Honduras / Casa de Ester: January 12-19 2019

January 21, 2018 to January 27, 2019
Tegucigalpa, Honduras
The women of OHC will travel from San Antonio to Honduras for 8 days. We will build relationships and minister to young ladies and teens who have been victims of trauma, abuse, and neglect. Regardless of your experience or language knowledge, all of your multifaceted gifts can be used on this trip. Do not underestimate your value in building God’s Kingdom abroad because you believe you’re lacking an associated ministry skill. God can use your exclusive talents on our Oak Hills Church short-term team to serve Him in this mission journey.

“You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry defending the fatherless and the oppressed, in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.” Psalm 10:17-18

The OHC team will be serving alongside the staff of Casa de Ester (CDE) and CoreLuv. Casa de Ester is a Christ-centered ministry serving sexually traumatized young girls – restoring them to a life of hope, purpose, and favor.

Our relationship with CDE started with our Ministry Partners of Michael and Valina Perry; Michael grew up at Oak Hills Church. He and Valina first traveled to Honduras in the May 2013 and began working there on mission in the Fall of the same year. In May 2015 they took over full ownership and leadership of the Casa de Ester ministry. They provide physical, spiritual, and emotional support to girls and young women who are victims of abuse. Additionally, they provide educational, vocational, and transition assistance to these women. Through their work and God's healing they are able to transform the lives of many women of Honduras. In December 2016, the Perry's transitioned stateside to focus on building their ministry partnership network, along with fundraising.  Since February 2018, they have been joined forces with CoreLuv.   They continue to be involved with the operations of CDE and participate with STM teams that serve at CDE and Honduras.
