SERVE OPPORTUNITIES

Our Care Ministry Teams walk with people to grow in specialized situations or times of need. We do this through opportunities like Baptism Ministry, Prayer Ministry, helping facilitate a Care Community (groups/classes for gaining a better relationship with finances, walking through life’s difficulties, grief, etc.), Marriage/Pre-Marital Ministry to develop and shepherd healthy marriages, Memorial/Funeral Team and Care Facilitators who make visits to people in care homes, hospitals, etc.

Our Children’s Team shares the simple truths of God’s great love in a fun and creative way. There are multiple options where you can use your gifts and heart to serve the next generation!

Our College and Young Adults team supports college students in the development of their personal relationship with Christ as well as their biblical community with one another.

Our Family Mentoring Ministry (FMM) is an outreach to struggling families in our community who are committed to improving their lives. OHC Family Mentors are matched with local families and walk alongside them in this journey of restoration, in partnership with Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries. Start the journey by taking our Helping Without Hurting class offered each semester.

Are you a health care professional looking to use your gifts and training at Church? Our First Aid Team is Christ-centered, all-volunteer teams of licensed health care professionals consisting of RNs, Physicians, and EMTs that seeks to provide basic first responder care to all attending regularly scheduled services.

Oak Hills Church is honored to partner with the San Antonio Food Bank and the USDA’s Farmers to Families Food Box program to bless and serve local families with various fresh and non-perishable food items.

Use your gifts to bless and serve local families! Volunteers will welcome families and distribute food boxes to up to 400 families in the Oak Hills Church and San Antonio community. Adults, middle school, and high school students are invited to serve. Middle school students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. High school students can volunteer without a parent/guardian present.

Did you know that one of our city’s greatest needs is in the area of affordable housing? An estimated 153,000 families in San Antonio have an unmet housing need, including 71,000 children living in overcrowded housing. At Oak Hills Church, we’ve decided to do something about it. We are partnering with Habitat for Humanity to share the hope of Jesus by providing long-term housing solutions to families in need. Serve with us!

The purpose of the Hospitality Ministry is to utilize gifts of those in the church body who wish to equip others to experience quality fellowship meals in our neighborhoods and families and serve meals to those who minister at the campus. Volunteers help by shopping, do food preparation, serving meals, washing dishes, and cleaning up.

Have you had a great experience at Oak Hills Church and want to help others have the same? From the street to their seat, the Host Team serves people with a smile, a warm welcome, and a hearty desire to help them find their place at OHC.

Oak Hills Church Local Outreach mobilizes the church to share the hope of Jesus where there is brokenness, poverty and a lack of hope. We partner with Habitat for Humanity, the San Antonio Food Bank and other local non-profits. An OHC Carpenter’s Crew serves the elderly with light home repair projects.

Are you gifted with vocal ability or skilled as a musician? Our Music Team exists to enable all worshipers to have a heart-changing encounter with God the Father, in the presence of Jesus the Son, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Submit an application and schedule your audition.

Are you gifted with an upbeat attitude and have great communication skills and with a desire to use your gifts to serve others? The Receptionist volunteer team member sets the tone and helps triage incoming phone calls to ensure that all callers and visitors feel appreciated, important, and loved. Serving opportunities are Monday thru Friday with two 3.5 hour shifts to choose from (9:00 AM - 12:30 PM or 12:30 - 4:00 PM). Training is provided.

Our Photography Team includes amateur and professional photographers with a passion for photography, a desire to use our gifts to serve God, and a love for serving others. We capture photos of our church body during weekend services, special events, and baptisms. Our photos support all OHC ministries, enrich church-wide communication, and allow us to courageously engage culture with the hope of Jesus.

Our Production Team inspires and encourages connections to God through the creative use of technology. The team supports Oak Hills Church services and events with audio and visual technology. We operate computers, audio consoles, lighting consoles, video cameras, and other technology to support services and events. Training is provided, and all are welcome.

Are you an active or retired licensed security officer, law enforcement agent or military personnel ready to use your gifts to actively pursue a safe environment for every attendee? Our Safety Team assists at all Oak Hills Church events and supports the security staff and First Aid Ministry.

One of the many ways we encourage the Body of Christ to serve is through short term mission trips. Trips of one to two weeks stretch and grow your faith, as you work alongside our partner ministries to share the love of Christ in countries like Guatemala, Haiti, Philippines, Ukraine, and more. Trips are on hold Fall 2020 but we hope to start taking teams again in 2021.

Our Spanish-speaking congregation, OHC Español, meets each Sunday in the West Auditorium at 12:30 PM. There are many opportunities to serve: Small Group Leader, Worship Team, Host Team, Prayer Ministry, Hospitality Ministry, Marriage Ministry, Women's Ministry, Men's Ministry, and many more.

Life was not meant to be lived alone. We all need the encouragement of a biblical community. Why not start a group? You can do it. We can help!

Our Student Team supports middle and high school students in their journey to develop a personal relationship with Christ. Teams partner with parents to disciple and equip students to actively live out their faith.
